Valcarlos (page 41) Albergue Municipal is under the school. 24 beds, kitchen, open all year.

Orisson (page 43) About 5km after Honto, the Refuge-Auberge Orisson costs 28euros for bed, dinner and breakfast. Phone 0681 497956.

Espinal (page 45) Camping Urrobi, at km42 on the N-135, has bungalows for rent and a private albergue.

Huarte (page 49) Albergue in Huarte, 2km off the camino, 60 beds, open April to November, meals.

Pamplona (page 57) The German confraternity, Freundeskreis der Jakobuspilger Paderborn has opened a new albergue in Pamplona. To get there, turn left just after crossing the Puente Magdalena over the Rio Arga. The albergue has 23 bunks in small rooms.
A 114 bed municipal albergue in Pamplona opened in August 2007. The 16th C Jesuit Church of Jesus and Maria on calle Compañia has been renovated to accommodate 114 pilgrims in four dormitories as well as the upper floor which has a separate, independent, soundproofed area for snorers. The new albergue will replace the Convento Adoratrices albergue. The municipal albergue at the chalet de Iraizoz (Casa del Veterinario) on Molino de Caparroso, which has 24 beds and is open from April to October, will remain open.

Obanos (page 61) Casa Rural Osses has 4 double rooms for 25 euros (without bath) or 30 euros (with bath). Laundry, access to kitchen (3 euros). Calle San Guillermo 3, phone 948 344261.

Puente la Reina (page 62) Camping El Molino (www.campingelmolino.com) has bungalows that sleep 4-6 people for 69 euros (79 euros in July and August).

Cirauqui (page 63) Albergue Parroquial, next to the church, has 12 beds. By donation. Open mid-March to end of September. Phone 948 342081. Some reports suggest this albergue closed in July 2007.

Lorca (page 64) Albergue La Bodega del Camino, Calle Placeta 8, has 36 beds, a kitchen, and serves some meals.

Villatuerta (page 64) Villatuerta's albergue is now closed.

Estella (page 64) Albergue Oncieneda, Calle Monasterio de Irached, on the way out of town, 150 beds, meals, kitchen, open all year.

Ayegui (page 65) Albergue, Calle Polideportivo, 90 beds, open all year, meals, phone 948 554311.

Los Arcos (page 68) Albergue Romero is now closed.

Sansol (page 68) Sansol's albergue is now closed.

Torres del Rít;o (page 68) Hospital Peregrino on Calle Mayor is now closed.

Logroño (page 71) Camping La Playa (www.campinglaplaya.com, phone 941 252253, Avda de la Playa, 6, next to the Las Norias sporting complex) has bungalows that sleep up to 5 people for 69 euros. You can also get a bunk bed for 18 euros.
Albergue Iglesia de Santiago, 2nd floor of the priest's residence (buzz door #8). 20 mattresses, meals provided, open June to September.

Navarrete (page 73) Camping Navarrete (phone 941 440169, Ctra Navarrete-Entrena km1.5) has bungalows for 2 people that cost between 70 and 85 euros, depending on season.

Ciriñuela (page 76) Albergue San Millán, 8 beds, by donation.

Espinosa del Camino (page 81) Small albergue run by José Mir, 10 beds. Breakfast and dinner (some reports that this is obligatory).

Atapuerca (page 84) Albergue de Peregrinos, 30 beds, also has rooms.
Albergue La Hutte, 21 places, 6 euros, open all year (phone 947 430320).

Burgos (page 93) The Santiago y Santa Catalina albergue in the centre of Burgos has reopened after many years. The albergue is located very close to the cathedral.

New albergue, Casa del Cubo, Calle Fernán Gonzalez 28, 76 beds, open all year, kitchen. Oops! We've misnamed two of the albergues in Burgos in both the map on page 90 and the text on page 93. The main albergue is called Albergue El Parral, and is now closed. What we call El Parral is the Santiago y Santa Catalina albergue mentioned above. Thanks to John for the clarification.
Camping Fuentes Blancas (www.campingburgos.com) is 3km out of Burgos along the road to Cartuja de Miraflores; some bungalows for rent.

Rabé de las Calzadas (page 94) The Albergue Danza y Música is reported closed. The French albergue (Santa Marina y Santiago) remains open.

Convento de San Antón (page 95) Albergue in the Convento de San Antón, open July to September, meals.

Castrojeriz (page 95) Camping Camino de Santiago, at the entrance to town, also has an albergue at the campsite.

Itero del Castillo (page 97) Albergue municipal, 1km off camino in Itero del Castillo. 12 beds, open all year.

Carrión de los Condes (page 102) The Albergue Espiritu Santo has 60 beds and costs 4 euros; good reports.

Good news! The long, treeless stretch between Carrión de los Condes and Calzadilla de la Cueza now boasts a (seasonal) open air café-bar at the half-way point. It's called Bustillo del Paramo and as well as food and drink, boasts shade! Thanks to Jim Hugill and Tracey Forbes for the information. Jim said it was "just like coming to an oasis in the desert."

Terradillo de los Templarios (page 102) Albergue Los Templarios, on main road, 56 beds, open all year, phone 667 252279, also private rooms.

Sahagún (page 103) Albergue Viatoris, just at the entrance to town near the Plaza de Toros, costs 6 euros a night and has 56 beds. It's reportedly very bicycle- and horse-friendly.
Hospederia Benedictinas, on way out of town near the Arco de San Benito, 12 beds, open April to October.

Astorga (page 120) Astorga's albergues have changed. Albergue San Javier's address is Calle Portería 6 (120 beds, kitchen). Albergue Amigos del Camino de Santiago, Plaza San Francisco 3 (156 beds, kitchen).

Santa Catalina de Somoza (page 123) Camping El Carbayal (www.carbayal.com/, 987 691909) is in Santa Colomba de Somoza. To get there, folow the LE142 just before reaching Santa Catalina. You can continue to Rabanal on the same road.

San Blas now has a 20 bed albergue.



El Ganso (page 123) Albergue Gabino opened in 2007. It has room for 30 pilgrims in summer, 11 pilgrims in winter, and has a kitchen, heating and laundry facilities. There is also one private room with 2 beds. The albergue is on calle Real, no. 9.

Foncebadón (page 124) Albergue El Convento de Foncebadón, 21 beds, meals. Also some private rooms. Phone 987 691245.
Albergue Monte Irago, 33 beds, meals, open all year.

Molinaseca (page 126) Albergue Santa Marina (near albergue municipal, 56 beds, meals, open all year.

Ponferrada (page 127) Turismo has moved next to the ayuntamiento.

Portomarín (page 146) Michael writes of two new private albergues in Portomarín. Kevin says that one of these, Albergue Ferramonteiro, is a great facility with 108 beds, a great kitchen, marvellous bathrooms and dorm beds. Cost is 8 euros, and it's on the left up the stairs after crossing the bridge. Thanks to Michael and Kevin for the updates!

San Julián (page 149) There's a private albergue called O Abrigadoiro here (phone 982 374 117). They also operate as the local bar, serve breakfast, dinner and drinks all day. Cost is 22 euros, with complimentary wine and bread and cheese. Thanks to Marilyn for the information!
